This hand-carved and cast pendant is Ken Fury's original version of the crescent symbol. It is inspired by his New Mexican Hispanic and Indigenous heritage, which dates back to the time when the Spanish introduced the symbol to the Southwest. The crescent became an iconic symbol that was integrated into Indigenous and Hispanic jewelry, often referred to as "Naja." The symbol represents the crescent moon and has been used by various cultures throughout history, including the Moors and Spanish, who used it on their horse's bridles as a powerful talisman for protection. The crescent symbol is also interpreted as a symbol of fertility, with its center representing a child in the womb. Today, this ancient symbol continues evolving as it travels to new regions, with each person adding their own interpretation and meaning to it.
